About Doug

When Doug arrived at Full Circle Rescue & Sanctuary, he was matted so badly that his coat was completely pelted to the skin. Underneath all that neglect was one very sweet little guy who just needed someone to believe in him. After just a week in foster care, Doug has completely started to blossom. He's friendly, happy, loves his people, is wonderful with kids, house trained, and walks beautifully on a leash. Doug does well with other dogs, but he likes introductions on his terms. He can be a little reactive when first meeting a new dog and needs a minute to figure out that everything is okay. He's worked with our trainer and has transitioned beautifully into a foster home with other dogs, so we know he can absolutely live happily with canine friends when given a proper introduction and a little patience. And then there's the crate. Doug would like it officially documented that he is NOT a fan. After working with our trainer, however, he has begrudgingly compromised and decided crate life isn't quite the personal attack he originally thought it was. No cats for this boy. Chasing them is just entirely too entertaining. Doug has already come such a long way in such a short time. He's looking for a special family who understands that sometimes the dogs who have been through the most just need a little patience, consistency, and a whole lot of love.
