About Lucy

Lucy is a very sweet rescue beagle. She was picked up walking down the side of a road in South Carolina. The rescuers believed she was 2-3 years old. Was homeless and on her own but showed signs of physical abuse. We think she is about 9 years old now. Despite her very tough life before being adopted, she showed nothing but affection to her rescuers and fellow kennel mates. She was very tiny and energetic when my mother got her, but as with most beagles, loved to eat and put on weight. She is currently overweight and doesn't like to walk but loves to cuddle up. A perfect fit for someone who is not looking for a high energy dog but just a loving, easy-going companion to relax with. My mother has moved to an assisted living facility and can no longer take care of pets. We have two very skittish cats. We don't think Lucy would harm them, but barks when they get too close which makes the cats a nervous wreck.
