GSD/Husky Mix 7 Years Female 44 lbs HW Positive Jacksonville, NC This beautiful girl is on the euthanasia list for Thursday 9/24 if not one comes for her. We are seeking a FOSTER OR ADOPTER. She does have heartworms and a plan has been put in place to cover her treatment. All she needs is a place to go. NOTE ** Emmy can be dog selective and given that she's 7 yrs old and needs HW treatment, we recommend her being the only pet. Thanks to an incredible sponsor, Emmy's echocardiogram was completely covered. It confirmed an enlarged heart with heartworms visibly present within the heart. She has now started Prednisone and Doxycycline, which can go with her to rescue (full dose). And more amazing news-we have another sponsor covering her Immiticide injections! Our vet recommends completing heartworm treatment before she is spayed, meaning she still has several months ahead of her. She cannot remain in the shelter that long. Rescue is her only avenue out. We have the diagnostics. We have medications started. We have sponsors helping cover her treatment. We will help however we can. Now we just need somewhere for Emmy to go. She is such a sweetheart!
