About Bisou

Meet Bisou, a beautiful 4-year-old, 37-pound girl who is incredibly smart, athletic, energetic, and full of personality! Born on a farm in Tennessee to a mama dog in foster care, Bisou and her eight littermates were lucky to never experience life in a shelter. She was adopted at just four months old and has been very loved ever since. As much as her current owner loves her, she has come to realize that her living situation isn't the right fit for the active, intelligent working dog Bisou is. Through our rehome program, we're helping her find a home where she can truly thrive. Bisou's DNA is quite the working-dog mix-Australian Cattle Dog, Pit Bull Terrier, Border Collie, German Shepherd, Husky, Chow Chow, and more. She's curious, alert, strong, playful, and happiest when she's engaged with the world around her. She LOVES being outside! Walks in the woods, running, jumping, exploring, and playing games are some of Bisou's favorite things. She would likely excel at activities like agility and would thrive in a quieter home with a large, securely fenced yard (a must for her adoption) where she can zoom around, explore, play with her humans, or simply hang out. Inside, Bisou is extremely well behaved and wonderfully independent. She appreciates a routine but can be flexible, and is perfectly content doing her own thing. She even watches TV-and isn't afraid to bark her opinion about your choice of programming before putting herself to bed! She loves her people but isn't a dog who needs to be attached to your hip. While Bisou is a very special girl, she is not a pup for a first-time dog owner. She can be reactive and unpredictable around other dogs. She does have canine friends and has successfully attended daycare, but she's selective about her four-legged companions. She needs an experienced, attentive handler who understands canine body language and reactivity and will be fully present while walking her. People, on the other hand? Bisou LOVES them! She'll spot a complete stranger down the street and eagerly hope they're coming over to say hello. Bisou is not a city dog and would not do well in a loud or chaotic environment. Her ideal family will appreciate her working-dog brain and provide her with the structure, exercise, enrichment, and engagement she needs.
