About Princess Kaia

Meet Kaia �%9D%A4��%8F Kaia was found injured on the street and brought into our home as a foster. After getting her healthy and getting to know this special girl, she is ready to find the permanent family she deserves. Kaia is estimated to be 6 to 9 years old and DNA tested 100% German Shepherd. She is playful, curious, intelligent and incredibly affectionate once she bonds with you. She is cautious with strangers and doesn't immediately trust everyone. If she's uncomfortable with someone, she may bark and retreat. Once you earn her trust, though, she wants to be wherever you are. She has definitely become my little Velcro girl. She walks well on a leash, rides wonderfully in the car, enjoys going places, loves enrichment activities and treats, and could play with water from the hose all day. We're currently working on desensitizing her to brooms and mops, which she reacts to. Kaia currently lives in our home with eight dogs. She tends to bully our senior dogs regardless of their size, but does well with our younger adult dogs. Because of this, we would prefer an only-dog home or a carefully matched dog after a meet-and-greet. No cats recommended. Her experience with children is unknown. Kaia has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and vet checked. Her veterinarian also believes she has never had puppies. Her adoption fee is $50, which helps offset a small portion of the veterinary care we've provided. We already have eight permanent dogs and regularly foster dogs in need, so unfortunately we cannot keep every dog we rescue. Kaia is not being rehomed because she is unwanted. We love this little girl and are looking for the right home, not simply the fastest home. Distance is not necessarily a deal breaker. For the right family, we are willing to discuss helping with transportation. Most importantly, Kaia will always have a safety net with us. If her adopter ever cannot keep her, for any reason, we require that she be returned to us rather than surrendered, given away or rehomed.
