About Wilbur

Wilbur is the kind of dog who doesn't need to be the center of attention to make himself part of your heart. This handsome 2-year-old Chihuahua mix weighs about 13 pounds and has a wonderfully mellow personality. Wilbur came from a hoarding situation, so he's had to learn a lot about the world along the way. He may take some time to warm up to new people, but he has made wonderful progress in his foster home. Once he gets comfortable with you, you'll discover a sweet companion who loves being nearby and quietly enjoying life with his people. One of the best things about Wilbur is how well-mannered he is. He's house-trained, trustworthy when left home alone, and is happy to settle into his routine. He also LOVES walks. He's friendly with both dogs and cats and especially enjoys having another calm, confident dog around. In fact, a canine companion is important for Wilbur because having a doggy friend helps him feel secure and gives him confidence as he navigates new experiences. Wilbur's ideal home will be patient and understanding, with people who appreciate that relationships take time and who are happy to let Wilbur come to them rather than expecting him to immediately be everyone's best friend.
