Meet Bobby - A Gentle Gentleman Ready to Come Home Bobby is the kind of dog who makes you wonder how such a sweet, well-mannered boy ended up waiting at a shelter. This handsome 5-year-old, 25-pound Collie/Shepherd mix had a home and someone who loved him, but when his owner became ill and could no longer care for him, Bobby suddenly found himself needing a new family. And Bobby is very ready to belong to someone again. Calm, affectionate, friendly, and confident, Bobby already knows how to be a wonderful companion. He is housetrained, walks nicely on leash, knows 'sit,' and has an easygoing personality that could make him a great choice even for a first-time dog owner. Bobby is also good with other dogs. On walks, he is comfortable around them and recently did a wonderful job walking alongside a younger, less-confident dog. Bobby's calm, steady presence seemed to make everything just a little easier for his walking buddy. He could be perfectly happy soaking up all the love as your one-and-only companion, or he may enjoy sharing his home with another compatible dog with a similarly relaxed personality. Bobby has not yet been tested with cats. At only 25 pounds, Bobby is a wonderfully manageable size - big enough for adventures and long walks, but small enough to fit comfortably into everyday life. And at five years old, he offers that lovely combination of a dog who still has plenty of life and adventures ahead of him without all the chaos of puppyhood. Most of all, Bobby is simply a good dog who lost his home through no fault of his own. He already knows what it feels like to have a family.
