Sophie Needs a Foster or Adopter to Secure Her Ride to Wisconsin%A0 Sophie is currently in a Georgia kill shelter and needs a FOSTER or ADOPTER to secure her spot on the transport to Cedarburg, WI with Mutt Life Dog Rescue on Saturday, October 3rd. A committed home is required for her to make the trip, and we're hopeful the right person is out there.%A0 Meet Sophie%A0 Sophie is a 2.5-year-old Hound mix who is looking for her second chance at a happy forever home. Sophie was originally adopted about a year ago, but her owner recently decided that Sophie 'wasn't happy' in the home and returned her to the shelter.%A0 Since leaving, Sophie has put on a little weight, and her owner was having some difficulty walking her on leash. She also felt that Sophie wanted to spend more time outside. While we can't know exactly what Sophie was feeling in her previous home, what we do know is that she has been an easy keeper at the shelter with excellent kennel manners and is showing everyone what a great dog she can be.%A0 Sophie is housebroken, rides well in the car, and absolutely loves other dogs. She has been a rockstar in playgroups and enjoys getting out and having fun with her canine friends. She is not a big barker and has a wonderful, easygoing personality. She is event the shelter's current female temperament tester dog, meaning she is the one they use to test the incoming dogs to see if they are dog friendly.%A0 As a Hound-type dog, Sophie does have some prey drive and enjoys chasing squirrels and other small critters. She is not overly focused on cats, but we would recommend caution in a home with cats, especially if the cat is likely to run. A confident cat who is comfortable around dogs may be a better match.%A0 Sophie is ready to leave the shelter behind and find a home that understands her Hound personality, gives her plenty of opportunities for exercise and enrichment, and will love her for the wonderful dog she is.%A0 Age: 2.5 years%A0 Gender: Female (spayed)%A0 Weight: 46 lbs%A0 Breed: Hound mix (best guess)%A0 Spayed/Neutered: Yes%A0 Potty Trained: Yes%A0 Crate Trained: Unsure%A0 Leash Manners: Working on it%A0 Good with Dogs: Yes%A0 Good with Cats: not really%A0 Good with Kids: Yes Sophie is ready to keep moving forward and would love a foster or adoptive home to help make that happen. If you're able to foster or adopt Sophie, please apply today.%A0 www.muttlife.org __________ Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter procedure, up to date dewormer,%A0 vaccinations, and heart worm prevention (age appropriate).
