About Dio

Dio is an active Corgi with tons of personality and love to give! He is the kind of boy whose one love is the ball and his second love is to be loved. He will let you know with little huffs and puffs that he's ready to play and he loves to climb up on your lap and give kisses and cuddles but if you stop, he will tell you he wants more with a howl. When he's been wiped from chasing the ball, he will pass out on the floor and relax for a while before he's ready to play again. He would do best in a home with a yard or with an active owner who can help him get his energy out. He has lived with his dog brother and cat sister since he was a few months old, but has had resource aggression issues with them both, to the point that we all believe he would be much happier in a single animal home. He has been trained since he was a small puppy to be comfortable in a crate, with a muzzle on, potty trained, leash trained, then again with a month long intensive training that further trained him to be off-leash, to heel, and to stay on a given 'place'. He has had very very minimal health issues throughout his life. He does receive anti-anxiety pills that are not necessary, but recommended he stay on (especially while settling in to his new home). He also receives joint supplements to maintain the health of his joints as he is getting older. I also give him salmon oil once a day to help his fur stay shiny and healthy! The adoption fee covers his hard-shell TSA approved kennel, collapsible kennel with cover, multiple dog beds, his elevated mat/'place' with personalized cover, 2 month food supply, dog bowl, harness, dog seatbelt, leash, brush, shampoo/conditioner, and his current medications. Prefer an applicant in a cooler location as our current area (South Mississippi) has been a bit tough on him and he loves the snow. Prefer to rehome him before moving in November, but will wait for the right applicant to make sure he's happy and taken care of!
