About Ozlo

Ozlo is a sweet, smart, love-hungry boy, who's looking for a safe, stable and forever home. He loves playing with toys, walks in the woods and cuddling. He is very easy to groom, bathe and trim nails. A favorite activity for Ozlo is being in the water, anything from playing in a small puddle to swimming in a lake or just jumping through a stream of water. Ideally, he would be an only dog so can get all the attention. He might be okay with a smaller, more docile dog BUT no other Alpha dog. He cannot be rehomed with cats, he will chase them and has seriously injured a cat before. He loves people, has not socialized with children, so I am unsure how he would react to youngsters. He is house trained, leash trained, knows simple commands, like 'sit' and 'lay down' but is very smart and trainable - anything for treats. I am rehoming him because I am an elderly woman who has two other dogs - a small Corgi mix and a large Pit weimareimer mix, both are older. My big one has always been the Alpha dog. Ozlo has never fully accepted his ranking order in the pack and often challenges my older dog. This is the main reason for me rehoming him in addition to the difficulty of walking three dogs. I have been fostering him for two years now. His first seven months of life were very sad, he was neglected, forced to only remain in one small area of the house behind a gate, never allowed to participate in the 'normal' life of the couple who bought him. He was not allowed to come into the rest of the house and spent his life by himself for long hours. He was often scolded because he chewed on the walls 'to free himself'. He was forced to relieve himself in his small living space, often only ate only human food leftovers and rarely received a walk around the block. He did not receive any medical check ups or vaccinations at this time. That is the main reason why he is so thirsting for love and attention. Since living with me and my dogs, he has adjusted very well to the quiet environment of my home, lifestyle and our daily routines. He has not chewed on walls or been otherwise destructive. He absolutely loves to hear what a'good boy' he is. He received the full treatment for his heart worm infection this year, had his recent checkup and was found 'egg free', he will need one final check up in April 2027 via blood draw, to officially declare him heart worm free. He never showed any symptoms, and as above states, received the whole 5 months stage treatment, so I am pretty certain, he will be declared heart worm free. ��%BC ��%BC
