BEYOND URGENT, SWEET CHOW GIRL TO BE EUTHANIZED! 72 hr warning issued 8/31! We are in urgent need of finding a responsible and caring home, or foster and rescue, for this adorable girl who was found as a stray and brought to the shelter on 7/23. Sadly, her owner never showed. This very full kill shelter has since sent out a 72 hour warning of pending euthanasia (due to space) several weeks ago and therefore she can now be euthanized without further warning. The shelter has named this sweet girl Amore called and estimates she is 5 years young and weighs 45 lbs so she is perfectly sized. Although she came in a little timid, she has since warmed up to people, and can seen being so loving in videos we have, and taking treats gently. She also did well in playgroup with other dogs. Volunteers told us she took also knows basic commands and enjoyed getting pets she loved. Her shelter notes, state, 'Amore was in the play yard prior to the assessment and was given time to decompress. Amore displayed a relaxed body, loose tail wag, perked ears, open mouth pant, and soft eyes. Amore approached the handler becoming loose and wiggly when receiving petting. The handler was able to examine Amore's ears, mouth, abdomen, back, lower extremities, and tail with case. Amore continued to solicit petting and exposed her belly for belly rubs. Amore could benefit from further socialization and confidence building. Amore is ok for public adoption medium energy level calm dogs recommended.' A complete copy of both medical and behavior notes may be requested. While the shelter has made her available to adopt, we are worried her time may run out and are therefore also looking for a suitable foster so a rescue could also help her since most rescues need a place for a dog to go, to rescue a dog. Amore has been vaccinated and recently spayed, and is ready for a home.
