About Misty

Meet Misty - a playful and curious 10-year-old, 27 lbs. terrier mix ready for her forever home! This sweet, happy, independent gal loves her people and enjoys being part of the action. She may seem timid at first but after you throw her favorite toy or give her ear scratches she warms up pretty quickly. She will play fetch all day if you can keep up! She enjoys walking on leash and getting new smells while exploring. She does well in the home alone or with her people around. She would do well in a home that includes her in daily life. She does shed a little and is not hypoallergenic. Misty loves being brushed and is so soft you'll want to cuddle with her all day. She loves showing off her newest outfit and is quite the fashionista. She is extremely smart and quick to learn basic commands, is crate trained and housebroken. She does not jump on furniture or people. She makes a great road trip companion, nicely settled and tethered in the back seat. Misty does have some IVDD (introvertebral disk disease) which causes a bit of weakness in her back legs. She doesn't let that stop her and eagerly plays fetch. Misty will need someone who can continue to gently encourage her moderate activities while building her strength. She is currently fostered in a ranch style home setting and will need to take it slow with adjusting to stairs. A securely fenced yard would be ideal for her.
