Name: Truckstop Age: Vet estimated 5-6 years old Breed: Hound mix? - 53 pounds Sex: Male (not neutered) Location: Pulaski County, Arkansas A wonderful Good Samaritan often takes in dogs that would otherwise not survive, as fosters. She is not a rescue, she does this on her own. Truckstop and another dog were hanging around a gas station for years (at least since 2022) and suddenly his partner disappeared and Truckstop was not doing well without her, almost got hit by a car so our GS took him in immediately! Vet Info: Truckstop is blind, he saw the GS's vet on 9/14 and the vet was unable to determine if it was an injury or birth that caused the blindness. He looks otherwise healthy and his teeth look good, no dental work needed. He is, however, missing his front teeth - just his 4 canines. Truckstop is not current with vaccinations or HW tested but GS is having that done soon. Truckstop does not have a microchip. Dog Info: Truckstop is housebroken (surprisingly, since he has been on the streets for so long) but not leash trained. He doesn't seem to know any commands. Truckstop is now an indoor dog with the run of the house, he is a little nervous but good with all people, dogs, cats and other small animals. Truckstop is not possessive with treats, toys or food and has not shown even the slightest bit of aggression - even when other dogs show aggression toward him. Truckstop does not bark at people entering the house, he lets anyone pet him, the vet couldn't believe how easy his vet visit was and how sweet he was. Truckstop is very unsure and nervous and needs a lot of time to feel out a new environment. He walks slowly and carefully around the house, he is still mapping out his new temporary home. He is more confident with another dog around to help guide him. His GS said that he is an extremely well behaved boy.
