Hi! My name is Sparky. I am a larger Pomeranian breed, also known as a 'Throwback Pomeranian.' Please look it up; a very interesting read. My human momma, very frail and elderly, had expressed to her children that she wanted a dog�'�|an older dog, however, they got me, at the time, an 8-week old puppy. I had too much energy and required too much care for my aging momma, so, she made the decision to rehome me. This is where rescue momma was tagged in the post, and by the next afternoon, I found myself in rescue. It's nice here. We have a large fenced in yard, doggy door access, which I have mastered, and enough fur-friends to keep me playing and entertained throughout the day. I get along with all other dogs, I am indifferent to cats, I do well with all adult humans, and will need introductions to children, as I can't recall being around them. I am crated at night and keep my bedding clean and dry. I am doing well on potty training, but new places may make me nervous at first, or until I get my routine down. I am not quite a year old yet. My birthday is 12.08.2025. We can celebrate then, and then again at Christmas�'�|sounds like a good plan to me. My last weigh in - when I was neutered was 22#. We Throwbacks are typically 22-30#. AHFR is located in SE Minnesota, in the Austin/Albert Lea area. AHFR is primarily a Beagle and small dog rescue. Our focus is to pull from High-Kill Shelters and to save those dogs that are at risk of euthanasia. All AHFR adoptions require an approved, completed application, a Veterinarian and Personal Reference Check, a smoke-free environment, and a home visit. Our Adoption fee is $425.00 for a single dog adoption. All our dogs are completely vetted, 4DX tested, current on vaccinations, *spayed/neutered, and microchipped.
