About Freddy

Freddy is a handsome 11-month-old Cattle Dog mix with a sweet, playful personality and plenty of youthful energy. He already knows sit, down, come, and his name, and he will watch/focus for a treat. Freddy is very treat motivated, takes treats gently, and is easily redirected. He may pull some when he sees people or other dogs, but responds well to leash guidance. Freddy is affectionate and enjoys attention, often calmly asking for more pets. He loves to jump around, play, and be silly, but showed an appropriate level of arousal during play. He did wonderfully with full-body handling and was described as submissive and totally fine throughout the handling portion of his evaluation. Freddy also showed no concerning food or possession guarding behaviors and was comfortable with his food and valued items being handled or taken away. Freddy is also a social boy with other dogs and was assessed as likely all-around dog friendly. He enjoys an energetic play style and immediately hit it off with Bambi. Although he can play rough, he showed that he can calm himself down, respect another dog's communication, and adjust his play style to match his playmate. His cat evaluation was encouraging as well. Freddy noticed the shelter cat and simply walked away, showing very little interest and focusing more on exploring the office. He was assessed as likely cat friendly with supervision, with the evaluator recommending additional observation around a less dog-confident cat before allowing unsupervised interaction. Overall, Freddy is a sweet, goofy, affectionate and dog-friendly young guy who would love a family ready to continue his training, enjoy his playful personality, and give him plenty of opportunities to have fun!
