Gimli is a 3 year old (4 in december 2026) intact male cowboy corgi with a lot of love to give. I adopted him when he was a puppy, and for about a year my health has plummeted and I haven't been able to give him the life he deserves. He also experienced trauma and abuse through a relationship I was in, so I'm very wary of who I rehome him to. Gimli does well with most other dogs- sometimes if they're too rambunctious or loud, he will get aggressive. If they are much bigger than he is, there's a chance he may be aggressive with them too. Otherwise he really just likes to play. He was raised with another dog. Gimli also does well with cats for the most part. He definitely has his herding instincts, and was raised around multiple cats. Sometimes he likes to chase them. He herds humans as well. Gimli has some separation anxiety and if he's left alone he will whine, bark and destroy things if not in a crate. That being said, he is crate trained. For the most part he sleeps in his crate during the night. Gimli is quite reactive and will bark at basically anything. He barks at people he doesn't know if they are at the door, or if they come into the house. Gimli is also very protective, especially of whoever he had chosen to bond with. It seems he does that with mostly women, and will be aggressive if he thinks that person is being hurt. He doesn't like loud noises so things like yelling or arguing will set him off. He will also get aggressive if people hit eachother or look like they are; we have had instances where he gets set off by people hugging as well. I don't recommend he be housed with kids for this reason. I feel that the best owner may be a single woman, although a man might do well with him also it would just be different. Gimli is not up to date on vaccines. He hasn't been for probably a year and a half. Due to my health i couldn't continue working and couldn't afford to keep them up. That aside though he is perfectly healthy. I am willing to answer any questions or provide more context and information if you contact me.
