%9D%A4%8F Looking for the right home for two very loved brothers - Loki & Parker %9D%A4%8F This is an incredibly difficult post for me to make. We rescued Loki and Parker together three years ago, and they have been part of our family ever since. They are approximately 3 years old, Lab/Pit mixes, house trained and crate trained, and they are very bonded to one another. My hope, if at all possible, is to find someone who can keep them together. Parker is the smaller black one. Even though he is 3, he still looks and acts like this sweet little one-year-old puppy. I have owned dogs for most of my life, and Parker is honestly one of the most loving dogs I have ever had. He gives an incredible amount of affection and has very much felt like my emotional-support dog. He wants to be close to you, love on you and be loved in return. Loki, the brindle boy, is the biggest baby you will ever meet. He may look intimidating, but he is scared of practically everything . His absolute favorite thing in the world is being petted, scratched and loved on. He will happily stand there forever if someone keeps scratching him. They have grown up as family dogs and are incredibly loving and loyal with the people they know. They are naturally protective of their home and family. They can be wary of strangers at first, so introductions need to be handled calmly and appropriately, but once someone is part of their circle they are extremely affectionate. The important part: we recently had a very serious incident involving our older dog. Because nobody was home when it began, we don't know exactly what triggered it, but Loki and Parker were involved in attacking her and she was badly injured. Because of that, I will not place them in a home with other dogs or other animals. I also believe that because they are so bonded, they can feed off one another's reactions if one feels threatened or gets into a conflict. Their new owner needs to understand that and be comfortable managing two strong dogs responsibly. This is not a situation where I am trying to hide their history or simply hand them off to whoever will take them. I love these dogs tremendously, and I am trying to find the right situation for them - ideally someone experienced with large, strong breeds who has no other pets, has a secure home/yard, understands careful introductions and is willing to give them the structure and affection they deserve. They have been with us for three years without anything remotely like this happening before, which is part of what makes this so heartbreaking. But after what happened, I cannot safely keep them in our multi-dog household. Please no judgment - this decision is already devastating for our family. I am simply trying to do the most responsible thing I can while also giving two dogs we love a chance at a safe, happy life. If you are seriously interested, have experience with strong breeds, and have a home with no other pets, please message me privately. I am happy to answer every question honestly and would want to speak extensively before considering placement. Please share. %9D%A4%8F
