About Eleanor

Eleanor is a 5-year-old, 25-pound girl who we believe is a Schnauzer mix. She came into rescue after being abandoned in a house, where she was found with a severely matted coat. After everything she has been through, Eleanor's outlook on life is wonderfully simple: she just wants to be with her people. Eleanor is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves attention and especially enjoys sitting on her person's lap. She would happily be the center of someone's world and soak up all the love they are willing to give her. She doesn't need a big production or constant entertainment. Being near her person is enough. She does well with other dogs and cats, so she could fit comfortably into a home with furry companions. At the same time, Eleanor would be perfectly happy as someone's one and only, where she could have all the companionship and lap time she wants. Eleanor is also a nice little walking buddy. She does well on a leash and likes to stay close to her person rather than pulling ahead to investigate every single thing in the neighborhood. She seems to take her job as a faithful companion quite seriously. There is a gentle sweetness about Eleanor that makes you want to give her all the good things she should have had from the beginning. She has been through a lot, but what she wants now is pretty uncomplicated: a comfortable home, someone to love, and a lap to curl up on. Eleanor is ready for a family who will make her feel safe, loved and included. In return, she will give you exactly what she seems to value most: her companionship.
