About Ginger

Looking for��%BD%A0a��%BD%A0home for��%BD%A0Ginger Hi, everyone! I am currently fostering this sweet girl. She came from a horrible hoarding situation with 37 other dogs in North Texas. She is now in Austin and looking for her forever home. She is a mini Australian shepherd and weighs about 20 pounds. Exact age is unknown but is estimated to be around 4. Despite being an Australian shepherd, she is fairly calm. The bottom of this post has links to her adoption info, but it is slightly out of date as some things have changed. The bio is still mostly accurate; however, she will likely require a bit more patience than her profile lets on. She has been super sweet and has shown no signs of aggression in our home; however, in the one home trial she had, she began aggressively barking about 45 minutes after we left. She did not attempt to bite anyone, but she was showing signs of aggression. If you are interested in Ginger, please know that the first day or so may be a challenge. The foster company allows a 10 day home trial, so there is no immediate commitment, but we ask that anyone applying understand that her adjustment period may not be super smooth and will require time and patience. Once you've gained her trust, she will be the sweetest and most loyal dog you could ask for, but the road to get there may be a challenge early on. Ginger would likely thrive as an only pet or in a home with a calm/patient other dog. A home with an overly energetic or aggressive dog will not be a good fit. She has no experience around cats or small children. She will require dental surgery in December/January and will also have to be spayed around that time as well. The adoption fee covers costs for both procedures. We are really hoping to find her a home before our extended vacation next month, so she doesn't get confused going in out of different homes.
