About Bobbie

Bobbie is the kind of dog who forms a deep bond with his person and never wants to leave their side. When I first saw him at the shelter, the odds were stacked against him. He was a pit bull mix, heartworm positive, and completely out of time at a very high kill shelter in Tulsa. Three strikes against him before anyone even gave him a chance. | But Bobbie made it out alive. Since then, he has completed heartworm treatment and tested negative, so he is officially healthy and ready for a real home. | Bobbie is incredibly human-focused and loyal. He follows me everywhere, walks beautifully on leash, does well in a crate, and genuinely just wants to be near his person. He loves everyone he meets. When my dog food delivery guy comes, Bobbie hops right into his van because apparently every visitor might be offering him a ride. | Bobbie lives with a pack of around 50 dogs ranging from Chihuahuas to dogs that tower over him, males and females, puppies and seniors, and he doesn't have problems with any of them. He is also great with cats and doesn't bother them at all. He has, however, appointed himself rodent control officer and is excellent at catching the large field rats that come with living on 40 acres. | Bobbie spends time inside or outside depending on what he feels like doing. He comes to the door when he wants inside and goes to the door when he wants out. Outside, he stays close to the house rather than wandering the property. Even the one time he accidentally slipped through the gate and took off down the road, he made it about 500 feet before stopping and turning around. | He is physically capable of joining you for higher-energy activities like hiking and adventures, but he isn't a high-energy dog. He doesn't need to be constantly exercised or 'worked' to burn off energy. He's just as happy hanging out with his person. | Bobbie really is a great dog, and I am incredibly glad I saved him from that kill shelter.
