About Melina-HEARTBROKEN!

The shelter is critically over-capacity, meaning good doggies are being euthanized due to lack of space!!! Crapshoot which dogs are chosen. Melina arrived at the shelter on July 14th as an owner surrender, which puts her at greater risk of a tragic ending at the shelter; is listed as, 'young', meaning 1-2 years of age. She is afraid of the shelter environment, which is not surprising, esp. expected, since remembers something much more different, a home. She prefers to try to hide away in corners, but does take comfort in being petted by the volunteers and takes treats from them, very gently. Is steadily being less afraid. She is described by them as 'topping the charts with her sadness', is gentle. She has 2 leash tests (with female dogs, so with male dogs, should be fine), timid, but interested. No to cats. PLEASE email to meet this so adorable, but very sad doggie, who needs a stable, patient home, that will let her put her guard down at her own pace, feel loved again! She can also be fostered, besides adopted.
