About Otis

This snuggly boy is Otis and he turned 1 in June 2026! My husband and I have been fostering him since November 2025 and it's time for this little guy to find his forever home! He is from a breeder in Oklahoma (AKC registration can be transferred) and he's actually the cousin to one of our girls, Winnie! He lives with two females cattle dogs- one 14 and the other just turned 2. He's submissive to both, and generally looks to Winnie for guidance in scary, new situations. He has been to a two week board and train with All Dogs Unleashed and is e-collar trained. Feedback was that he is very good boy, strives to please and is always looking for a job to do! We call him our drama king! He is vocal and definitely does the 'cattle dog talk' when he's looking for treats, water, ball time or just wants a cuddle! He is good on a leash but prefer to be free range! Unfortunately we aren't able to let him off lead as much as he'd like since we are in an area with a lot of traffic, but give him a big, fenced area and he loves to explore, but always checks in with his humans! It's taken time for Oats (nickname!) to let us touch him and rub his belly, he was nervous at first of any physical contact and lets us know if sometimes our pets are too much. He does have a broken tip of his tail and scans of his hips around 8 months old showed signs of hip dysplasia and an abnormality on his femoral crest. I can provide scans. This hasn't slowed him down one bit, but sometimes during a walk he will just want to sit for a second - whether that's him being lazy or him needing to rest his hips is anyone's guess!! If we could keep him forever, we would, but as a military family who moves frequently, we know that he needs a stable home, a big space to explore and a family who under the breed and all his potential for being the bestest boy ever! We will take the time needed to make sure Otis finds his safe space, so requests for immediate pickup won't be considered. Happy to answer any other questions via email.
