About Kovu

Kovu is a sweet 1 year old boy that came from a home with young children and didn't have the best experience with one of those children due to the child's disability and as a result doesn't like children or loud noises (screaming). He would do best in a home with Adults or older children that are good at respecting boundaries. In his previous home they reported that he lived constantly in fear and stress and would occasionally poop outside of the litter box. For this reason he would do best in an adult only home that is low stress where he can be with people and other cats and no children under the age of 16 preferably. He's very social with other cats and with proper introductions he does very well with cats. He is also very sweet and loves to lay on your lap as you read, and sleep in the bed with you. In my home he has has not had any litter box issues and absolutely loves being outside in the catio. We believe that the litterbox issue was stemming directly from the stress from the child with a disability in the home that didn't understand how to respect Kovu's boundaries. His previous family did love him, but due to the incompatibility with their son's disability, it was in Kovu's best interest for them to surrender him. He is an FIP survivor, and has not shown any signs of relapse so far but if he does relapse we have an FIP guarantee in place that will cover 50% of his medication costs if purchased through an approved pharmacy. Relapses are fairly rare and we do not expect that to happen, but we would like to help with that if it does occur. His adoption fee is a bit higher to cover a portion of the medical expenses that we incurred while treating him as we don't receive funding to help with our cats outside of adoption fees. Rehoming fee may be slightly negotiable to the right home.
