This is a lovely zebra finch. He used to be part of a flock of 9 that we had, over the last 12 years, all the others have died off (the females seem particularly vulnerable, from egg laying.) He is the last - now about 10 years old, but could live another five. We know that finches are social birds and don't do well by themselves; and we don't want to start the whole cycle again. So we are looking for a good home for him. Would want to place him with people who would let him out of the cage during the day, at least a few days a week (he doesn't go far, mostly hangs out on our potted plants; droppings are localized, and he goes back in his cage in the evening of his own accord.) We would also need assurances that he would be with other finches; the whole reason we are giving him up is that he needs a social life. We can provide a large 'flight' cages.
