About Rufus

I am looking to responsibly rehome my 1.5-year-old Rottweiler because I no longer am able to provide the environment and support he needs. He is up to date on his rabies vaccine, otherwise needs all others. He is an intelligent, energetic, strong dog who is friendly with adults and children and can be a loving companion. He is currently intact (not neutered). I want to be completely transparent about his behavioral history. He tried to mount my friends male intact dog who wasn't having it. He ended up getting aggressive when her dog tried to stop him. I believe the safest placement for him is as the only dog in the household. He needs an experienced owner who understands the Rottweiler breed and is comfortable providing structure, consistency, supervision, training, and appropriate behavioral management. This is a very difficult decision, and my priority is finding a safe, responsible, and appropriate home where he can be managed successfully and given the support he needs. Serious inquiries only.
