About Bandit

Adoption Fee: $100.00
Australian Shepherd mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

We are looking for a very special loving accepting and nurturing home for Bandit. How I came to adopt Bandit. I am 57 years old. I was looking for a dog for companionship. When I went to meet Bandit, I knew he wasn't for me. He is highly energetic and nervous. This is the breed I am told. I knew my home wasn't the one for him. However, as I stood and spoke to the teenage girl (who was given Bandit as a gift. He was a puppy, but this young girl was leaving for college.) Apparently, her ex-boyfriend was very abusive to him. Also, Bandit was left in the cage 12 hrs a day. I took him because I wanted to save him. I've tried my best but he is young and needs a very active home. I just can't give him that. I see he needs that so much. He is not keen on men. He does warm up but it takes a very long time. A lesbian couple would be perfect for Brandit. I only have teenagers and he is good with them. I don't know how he would be with small children. I love him deeply and want ONLY THE BEST HOME for him. Qualifications for adopting Bandit Must have experience with Miniature Australian Shepards or the Shepard breed in general. He is reactive to humans and animals. We are working on his reactivity but it's a slow go. He does not bite, never has. He will cower if yelled at. 1. Needs a large area to run 2. Does love to play with other dogs. He is dog selective and it takes him a while to warm up. He really enjoys playing with other dogs if they are smaller than him. 3. He does sleep with me. You tell him it's time for bed and he's o'۠. You don't have to have him sleep in your bed, but he is not an outside dog. He is crate trained. When he is bored or tired, he goes to his 'place' 4. I will require your consent to speak to your Vet. 5. At least 2 references. Name, how you know person, years know and contact phone number. 6. No renters, you need to own your own home. 7. IF YOU HAVE EVER SURRENDERED A PET Bandit is not for you. He cannot be rehomed again. The only reason I am rehoming him is I am not the right home. I owe it to him to find the right forever home for him. 8. A home visit is required. 9. We would like to visit him twice over the first 6 months of his adoption. 10. You must live within 3-4 hours from Annville, PA 17003. Bandit is loving and likes attention. He will sit next to you but not on you. The thing he loves MOST in the world is holding a toy in his mouth and having you rub his hinny with both hands; he will grunt and grunt. lol He loves nothing more. (His lower back and back legs but we say hinny) lol
