Max is an adorable little guy who is looking for his forever home after being surrendered to Mutt Life Dog Rescue by a local family who needed to find him a new home. His previous owner originally took Max in for a coworker who was no longer able to care for him and was planning to rehome him herself. We were happy to step in and help make sure Max found a safe and loving place to land. We believe Max is likely a Yorkie/Maltese mix, although his breed is our best guess. Whatever he is, he is absolutely adorable and has a wonderful personality to match! Max is a confident, good-natured boy who enjoys being around people and has done great with kids, including being around a baby. Max is potty trained, although he has marked in his foster home about 3 times since being here and is learning not to do that. He is scheduled to be neutered on 9/11, and we are hopeful the marking will resolve after being neutered. He is also crate trained. He may bark in his crate for a little while when his people are home, but he settles down after some time and does well when left alone. Because of the barking in the crate, an apartment may not be the best fit for him. Max is great with other dogs, cats, and even horses! He does not chase the horses and doesn't bark at them, so he could be a great match for a farm home or an equestrian family. He is a decent leash walker and may pull a little, but overall does well. He is also good off leash and has a great recall. Max has some energy and would love a home where he can go for walks, run around in a yard, or have another dog to play with. He isn't a crazy-high-energy dog by any means, but he is also not looking to spend all day as a lap dog who rarely leaves the house. He would enjoy a family who wants to include him in their daily life and give him opportunities for walks, playtime, and exercise. Max is currently in a foster home in Cedarburg, WI, and is ready to meet his forever family!
