About Raisin

Sweet, sensitive, and slowly discovering just how wonderful life can be, Raisin is a 1-year-old, 30-lb Australian Shepherd mix with the softest fur, gorgeous golden eyes, and the sweetest little fox-like face. Raisin was found abandoned on a property where neighbors had been caring for her for six months. Since coming into foster care, she has been soaking up the love and attention she likely never had- and little by little, she's coming out of her shell. Her playful side is emerging, and she loves fetching a tennis ball and wrestling with stuffy toys. She's smart and eager to please, takes cues beautifully from her foster mom, and walks nicely on leash. She's also non-reactive to other dogs and gets along well with dogs, cats, and kids. A confident, friendly dog sibling could be wonderful for Raisin and help show her the ropes. One of Raisin's favorite places is her crate, which she views as her own cozy safe space. She's quiet, house-trained, has no separation anxiety, and does wonderfully when left alone. She's truly an easy girl who just needs someone willing to let her continue building confidence at her own pace. Because Raisin is still a little skittish, a calm household would be best. She's gentle with kids, but a quieter environment will give her the space she needs to fully blossom. Raisin is such a special girl- dainty, easygoing, playful, and full of untapped potential. She just wants to learn, be loved, and finally know what it feels like to belong. With patience and a little encouragement, we know this beautiful girl is going to shine.
