About Bambi (aka Birdie)

Bambi(aka Birdie) is a 2-year-old, 69-lb brindle Mastiff mix looking for her forever home. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, house trained AND crate trained - and genuinely one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met. Bambi loves pretty much everybody. She has done well with dogs, cats, kids, and new people. She loves belly rubs, kisses and especially hugs - she'll actually stand up and put her paws on you when she wants one! She has absolutely no problem being handled either. You can touch her paws, pick her up, move her around, etc., and she's completely comfortable with it. She's medium energy and honestly just as happy stretched across the couch with her toys as she is going somewhere with you. She does great in the car and walks well on a harness. She'll pull a little when there's something interesting she wants to sniff, but she's easy to redirect. She's also got some adorable little quirks. If her food bowl starts sliding away while she's eating, she'll hook it with her paw and drag it right back over to herself. ��%BD��%BD%BD��%BD��%BD%BD��%BD��%BD%BD��%BD��%BD%BD She knows sit, come, no, up, and paw and is very people-oriented. Bambi had a rough start before coming into foster care. Her previous owners abandoned her tied to a pole, and she eventually arrived at the Palmdale Animal Shelter severely underweight. She spent a long time at the shelter without finding a home despite becoming a staff favorite. When she was placed on the euthanasia list simply because the shelter needed space, I brought her home so she would have another chance. And somehow, none of that seems to have changed how much she loves people. She's incredibly affectionate, happy and trusting. She's been gaining weight and learning what it's like to live in a home again. She doesn't bark excessively, chew things up, growl, nip or show aggression. The main thing her future family should know is that Bambi does have separation anxiety. After everything she's experienced, she really wants to be around her people. She would benefit from an adopter willing to patiently work with her on feeling comfortable when she's alone rather than expecting her to have it figured out immediately. Bambi is currently being fostered in Quartz Hill, CA but needs a rescue/adopter/foster asap. She survived the shelter. Now she just needs somebody to choose her.
