About Chili

Hi, I'm Chili, and if you're looking for a dog with personality, you've found him! I'm bold, clever, energetic, and-okay-I can be a little bossy. I have some herding instincts and may try to organize the other dogs (and occasionally the humans), but you're welcome to ignore my management suggestions. I'm also a world-class snuggler. I LOVE attention and will wriggle under your arm and right into your lap like a ferret if that's what it takes to get some pets. I wake up ready for whatever adventure you have planned, but once the fun is over, I'm perfectly capable of settling down quietly while my people are busy. I'm a smart guy who really wants to please. When you ask me to sit, stay or wait, I try so hard to contain myself that sometimes I actually quiver with excitement. I'm house trained, haven't shown any destructive habits, and while I haven't been crate tested, I'm comfortable hanging out in a room by myself. I do have a couple of special talents. I can walk surprisingly well on my back legs, and I've been known to investigate countertops-purely for quality-control purposes, of course. And food? I LOVE FOOD. Mealtime is a major event, so hold onto my bowl when you put it down, and watch your fingers when handing me treats. I haven't quite mastered the concept of delicate. One other thing: after a hot walk, I sometimes drink a LOT of water, which means I may need another quick trip outside sooner than you'd expect. If you like your dogs smart, affectionate, entertaining and just bossy enough to keep life interesting, I might be exactly the Chili your life has been missing.
