�%9D%A4��%8F Looking for the right forever home for a special Doberman girl �%9D%A4��%8F Meet Pancake, a beautiful 2-3-year-old Doberman, who is looking for a home where she can truly thrive. She is an intelligent, sensitive, deeply devoted girl who forms strong bonds with her people and would do best with someone who understands that anxious dogs often need a little extra patience, structure, and consistency. She is a highly alert and expressive girl who likes to communicate with her humans through barking, jumping, and pawing. With the right guidance, routine, and positive-reinforcement training, I have confidence that this can be trained out as I have had some progress with this but unfortunately, due to external circumstances, I am out of time with this beautiful girl. She has so much potential to become an incredibly rewarding companion. She also experiences separation anxiety. When left alone, she can become stressed and may express that stress by getting into things-especially cardboard boxes, socks, and plush toys. Her ideal home would be one that is prepared to work patiently on her confidence and independence and can provide appropriate enrichment and management while she learns that being alone is safe. When it comes to other dogs, she has a history of food-related guarding. She needs to be fed separately from other animals and would benefit from a home that respects her boundaries around food and understands resource guarding. Most importantly, we want to be completely honest about her history so she can find the right match. She previously bit a handyman who unexpectedly entered her space while she was outside. Neither she nor the handyman was aware the other was there, and when she suddenly became aware of an unfamiliar person in her territory, she reacted defensively and bit him. Because of this history, her future home will need to take introductions and visitor management seriously. She should not have unexpected access to unfamiliar people and would do best with an experienced, responsible owner who understands canine body language and is committed to safety and continued behavioral work. As mentioned time is running out with pancake. Both time and the right fit are factors to finding her a good home. Unfortunately due to her behavioral problems and history, finding a home in the shelter system is unlikely and euthanasia likely.
