A committed foster or adoptive home is needed for Donnil to make the trip to Wisconsin and get the fresh start he deserves.�%A0 Meet Donnil�%A0 Donnil is a beautiful black and white Pit mix who is about 2.5 years old and weighs around 50 pounds. He was found as a stray and survived on the streets before arriving at the shelter. Despite everything he has been through, Donnil is incredibly sweet and docile and is so grateful for the love and attention he receives.�%A0 Donnil attaches to people quickly and loves being around his humans. He loves to be petted and has a special way of staring lovingly into your eyes that will melt your heart. He takes treats very gently and is simply a wonderful, affectionate boy.�%A0 Donnil is also an excellent walking companion. He does not pull on the leash, waits patiently for his person, and matches their pace. He has medium energy and would enjoy getting out for walks before settling down with his favorite people.�%A0 Donnil is dog friendly and fine with cats. Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents. 2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email. 3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse $125 for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. We recommend going to HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI for the most affordable option.
