About Duchess

Meet Duchess! At just 2 years old, Duchess is a beautiful 49-pound Pit Bull with plenty of love to give. She came to the shelter as a stray, so we're still getting to know her personality, but one thing is clear-she's ready to find a family to call her own. When Duchess first arrived, she was a little nervous, especially around men. As she's settled in, she's continued to show that she appreciates patience and kindness while she builds trust. Because of her sensitive nature, we recommend a home with children ages 10 and up who can respect her space and help her feel comfortable. Duchess enjoys getting outside for walks and does well on a leash, though she can pull a little when she's excited. With continued guidance and positive reinforcement, she'll only get better! Duchess is looking for a home without cats. If you already have a dog, a meet-and-greet will be needed to make sure everyone is a good match.
