A committed foster or adoptive home is needed for Camilla to make the trip to Wisconsin and get the soft place to land she deserves.��%BD%A0 Meet Camilla��%BD%A0 Sweet Camilla is a petite 1.5-year-old mixed-breed girl who weighs about 35 pounds. She has the most amazing ears, but there is so much more to love about this sweet girl.��%BD%A0 Camilla was found as a stray and came into the shelter extremely emaciated after clearly struggling to survive. She was also missing part of her left hind foot. The injury was completely healed when she arrived, and while she may be missing part of her foot, it does not stop her from getting around and enjoying life.��%BD%A0 We don't know what Camilla has been through before coming to the shelter, but we can only imagine it wasn't easy. Despite her past, she is an incredibly sweet and affectionate girl who loves people. She is docile, slightly shy, and has lower, medium energy. Camilla is leash trained and enjoys being around other dogs. She can be playful with them, but she cares much more about her humans.��%BD%A0 Camilla has shown some resource guarding around food. When she first arrived, she was clearly previously starving and would bark at other dogs through the fence in an attempt to get their food. She has improved significantly since then, but we recommend that she be fed separately, either in her crate or in a separate room. With appropriate management, this is something her future family can help her continue to work through.��%BD%A0 Camilla is the kind of dog who deserves a soft place to land. Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents. 2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email. 3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse $125 for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. We recommend going to HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI for the most affordable option.
