More than a year in a shelter is far too long, especially for a gentle girl who wants nothing more than to be loved. Payaso is truly a hidden gem. She is calm, affectionate, easygoing, and loves being close to her people. One of the volunteers has known Payaso since the day she arrived and walks her regularly. She describes her as one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. Payaso simply wants attention, pets, and someone to call her own. She enjoys short walks, sniffing and exploring, belly rubs, treats, and splashing in the kiddie pool. She even loves being towel-dried afterward. Payaso is housetrained, walks nicely on leash, rides well in the car, and takes treats gently. Her quiet personality may be why she continues to be overlooked, but anyone who takes the time to know Payaso will discover what a special girl she is. If you have another dog, a meet and greet is recommended to ensure compatibility. Her history with cats and small dogs is unknown.
