About Blue & Aura

Bonded Chow Chow Pair - Aura & Blue I am looking for a loving, experienced home for Aura and Blue, a bonded pair of 2-year-old dogs who need to stay together. Both came from a breeder and have paperwork documenting their lineage. Aura is a 2-year-old, smaller, all-black purebred Chow Chow. She is spayed and is the calmer of the two. Aura can be shy and reserved, which is fairly typical of the Chow Chow breed, especially around people she does not know. Blue is a 2-year-old, larger Blue Heeler/Chow Chow mix with a beautiful black and gray coat. He is neutered and also has breeder paperwork showing his lineage. Blue can be intimidating when someone first enters the home because he will bark and sometimes jump at the door. However, he generally settles down within a minute or two and does not typically growl. Aura will usually bark along with Blue when someone arrives, but once things settle down, she is generally the more reserved and calm dog. Both dogs previously lived in a home with four other dogs, and all six dogs lived together. However, I have not personally seen how Aura and Blue react when introduced to unfamiliar dogs, so any introduction to other pets should be done carefully and properly. Neither dog has been around cats or children, so I am looking for a home that understands and is comfortable with that. Neither dog has ever bitten anyone. As with any animal that may be scared, nervous, or unsure in a new environment, there is always a possibility of a defensive reaction, so an experienced owner who understands canine behavior would be ideal. Both dogs are fully vaccinated and otherwise in good health. They are currently in need of a good grooming/haircut. Unfortunately, I am having to find them a new home because my mom passed away from cancer this past July. She was always home with them, and since her passing, we are away from the house for much of the day. They have become lonely, and I feel that finding them a home where someone can give them more companionship and attention is the best thing for them. My biggest priority is finding someone who understands the Chow Chow breed and is willing to keep Aura and Blue together. They have spent their lives together, and I would really like for them to continue having each other. This is not an easy decision, and I want to be upfront about their personalities and history so they can find the right home. A knowledgeable, patient, and loving Chow Chow owner would be ideal.
