Dumas, who's name means Smoke in Lithuanian, is an extremely smart and energetic 6 month old puppy. He is a mixed breed, most likely a terrier and cattle dog mix. He gets along so well with every dog he's met so far. He currently is in a home with cats and while he does not have an issue with them, they unfortunately have an issue with him and that is part of the reason why we are looking to rehome him. In the month that I have gotten to know Dumas he is the sweetest, most affectionate cuddle bug I have ever met. He definitely is the type of dog who thinks he can fit on your lap no matter his age or size. He is very people focused and loves learning new commands. He is house broken, crate-trained, and polite on a leash. He is affectionate and cuddly, loves playing fetch, chewing on sticks, solving pet puzzles. He enjoys going outside simply to sit and look around while other times he will run in endless circles around you. He plays endlessly with other dogs, will play fetch with anything you throw, and going on walks is 50% walking and 50% sniffing. He craves a cuddle session to end every day. He could do well living with other animals, but he would need to be with older animals that are patient with energetic puppies. He would do best in a home with a yard or with owners who spend plenty of time outdoors. He does not have any issues with separation anxiety and is comfortable with owners who have to work during the day, as long as plenty of attention is given to him during off hours %BD%BD Dumas is house-trained, crate-trained and sleeps in there for his naps and overnight. He walks well on a leash, and is currently working on 'leave it' and 'drop'. He is very food motivated, so these commands are still a work in progress, but as long as you trade his sidewalk treasure for a piece of boiled chicken, he will drop anything! He also knows 'other side' as a command for when a pole gets in between him and his owner while walking on leash. He also knows 'wait' and 'okay, let's go' while walking on the leash. He does well with his recall training, knows 'boop'/touch, sit, paw, come, stay. He knows, 'okay' as his release word for eating his food and for leaving his crate. To be totally honest, the more commands he knows, the better for his mind! The cattle dog in him loves his human and needs an assigned job, so any random task gives him plenty of joy. He is up to date on all vaccines and is microchipped. No medical conditions or dietary needs. I can provide all of his food, toys, daily materials if desired!! (I am looking to rehome him due to no fault of his own, he is genuinely a perfect pup. I simply have unexpected circumstances and one of my cats seriously dislikes him and Dumas is starting to get stressed in the home even though they are separated. I really want to make sure he can have a wonderful home life, and unfortunately at this time, that cannot be with me)
