KROGER Needs a Foster or Adopter by September 12 to Get Out of the Alabama Kill Shelter Kroger is currently in a kill shelter in Alabama and needs a FOSTER or ADOPTER to secure his spot on the transport to Cedarburg, WI with Mutt Life Dog Rescue on Saturday, September 12, 2026. A committed foster or adoptive home is needed for Kroger to make the trip to Wisconsin and get the fresh start he has been waiting for. Meet Kroger Sweet Kroger is a 2-year-old Lab mix who weighs about 45 pounds. He came to animal control after police were called to a local Kroger grocery store, where our sweet boy had somehow made his way inside and was happily walking around greeting everyone he met! Kroger is a friendly, happy-go-lucky guy who absolutely loves people. He is very good with children and would love nothing more than to be part of a family. He has a sweet and innocent soul and is always ready for some fun and attention. Kroger is very good on a leash and has great manners. He loves going for walks and, when he's not out exploring, his favorite thing is playing with other dogs. He is dog friendly, but can be a bit of a rough player, so he would do best with a dog who enjoys an energetic playmate. He is still a big puppy at heart so will need someone who wants to work on the basics with him like leash walking and basic commands. Kroger is a friendly boy who wants and needs to be in a family. He has been waiting far too long for his chance at a home and is one of our longest residents. He is so ready to bust out of the shelter and start the next chapter of his life! Age: 2 years old Gender: Male, neutered Weight: 45 lbs Breed: Lab mix Spayed/Neutered: Yes Potty Trained: Unsure Crate Trained: Unsure Leash Manners: Good Good with Dogs: Yes, enjoys playing but has a rambunctious play style Good with Cats: Unsure Good with Kids: Yes Energy Level: High/Energetic Kroger is neutered, fully vetted, and heartworm negative, tested 5/22/26. Kroger is available to FOSTER or ADOPT and needs a committed home to get him out of the Alabama kill shelter and onto the transport to Wisconsin on Saturday, September 12. After being one of the longest residents, this sweet boy is more than ready for his freedom. He deserves a family of his own where he can go for walks, play with dog friends, and finally have a place to call home.
