Marlin (and three of his siblings) was rescued April 23, 2026 from a neighborhood in the Inland Empire. A family bought four rabbits from the swap meet. A week after Easter when the kids grew tired of them, the parents released the rabbits into the neighborhood! The family also did this in 2025 and the rabbits didn't survive and the family didn't care. Concerned residents contacted us as well as animal control. We rescued the four rabbits and animal control paid the family a visit with a stern warning. Fortunately, Marlin et al are very friendly and social buns. Marlin chatters his teeth, has excellent litter box habits and enjoys pets. He would probably like a bunwife if you have a spayed female. He would do okay alone if you want to dote on him yourself. He's a ham for the camera as I was able to snap a picture of his tongue out! Silly boy! Marlin should be housed in an exercise pen or free roam. A cage/hutch is not recommended unless the door is always open and an exercise pen placed around it. (Nylon, pop-up playpens are not recommended as a rabbit will chew right through it!) Please be over 21 if inquiring about Marlin. Rabbits are a 10+ year commitment. Marlin can be seen by appointment in Lake Elsinore after a questionnaire is completed or a phone consultation conducted. On adoption day, plan to spend approximately one hour at the rescue going over paperwork and general rabbit care information. PLEASE consult with the rescue before you purchase rabbit supplies so you can be directed to the least expensive and most appropriate rabbit essentials, especially if you've never had the pleasure of owning a rabbit! Your local big chain pet store is probably NOT the best place to buy rabbit supplies!
