About Lorna

Yorkie mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Meet Lorna !! This tiny little girl is the best. Very sweet loving and happy with everyone. A gentle girl with a small side of fun and spunky mixed in. We really love her personality. She came to us from the shelter where she was left by her family. She was badly matted with very overgrown nails. She was so well behaved while we cut and shaved the mats out of her and she also let us clip her nails. She just sat and smiled through the entire process. When she left the shelter she was very scared but upon arriving at her foster home she did the cutest happy zoomies all over the back yard. She was so happy to be in a place that felt safe and had the most adorable happy excited burst of energy. Lorna is an approx. 2 year old female. She is a Yorkie mix. She weighs 7 Pounds. She will be spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped as part of her adoption. She is heartworm negative and on monthly preventions. She is VERY affectionate and sweet. She loves everyone and enjoys hanging out beside you on the couch. She has a spunky side here and there and will go do some zoomies but then she is right back to relaxing with you. She cuddles and follows you everywhere. She likes to either be with you or other dogs. She has never tried to escape the yard but has managed to figure out how to get from her fenced area into another fenced area where the other dogs were playing so she would not be alone. We are still not sure how she did that LOL! Lorna has done really well with other dogs of all sizes and ages. She is not fostered with cats so we do not know how she will do but probably would be fine. She is friendly and loving with kids. As with any dog, she would need children in the house to be respectful and not treat her like a toy. She is doing well with all of her house manners. She is crate trained and can sleep overnight in the crate without issues. Her previous owners said she would get car sick but she has taken several rides with us and never gotten sick. She does some panting and is a bit nervous sometimes but overall does fine. She is doing well with her potty training and keeps her kennel clean. We take her out often and that seems to work well for her, she doesnt tell you when she has to go so you have to take her out regularly. She sometimes has a little nervous or excited dribble when you reach for her. She is okay on the leash but will sometimes get nervous and not want to walk, she enjoys to be carried. Lorna has not had any issues sharing food, treats, or toys with people or other animals. She takes treats gently and is very gentle overall. She is a really easy dog to have around. When she gets settled in she has a more playful side and you can hype her up to play if you want. She will almost instantly calm down and relax when you sit down somewhere. She can be a bit nervous in new places and has not fully realized she is safe to relax. Sometimes loud noises or fast movements scare her but she overall is doing well. Losing your family and ending up in a new place can do that to a dog. Once she feels fully settled and safe that should pass. |%8FShe will need regular grooming. This requires time to get her to and from the appointments and additional expenses to pay for it. On average a dog of this breed will need grooming every 6 weeks. This should be fully considered prior to applying to adopt her.|%8F Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (She will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius) '%BC%8FPlease message us directly at [email protected] with questions or to get an application.
