About Scooby

Meet Scooby Age: 6 years old Scooby is a handsome 6-year-old boy looking for a home that will appreciate his training, respect his boundaries, and give him the confident, steady companionship he responds to so well. Scooby has previously completed a board-and-train program, and it shows. He is well trained, responsive to his handler, and walks nicely on leash. He thrives with gentle, confident leadership and has shown that he genuinely enjoys positive attention from people. In fact, once he realizes you're there to be his friend, he can be downright excited about getting that attention. Scooby is the kind of dog who benefits from a person who understands that trust and structure go hand in hand. Give him clear expectations, consistency, and kindness, and he is eager to respond. About Scooby Scooby is dog selective, so introductions to other dogs need to be thoughtful and carefully managed. He isn't a dog who should be expected to immediately make friends with every dog he meets, and any potential canine housemates would need to be considered on an individual basis. Interestingly, Scooby has not shown a significant prey drive in our observations. He has been exposed to a cat and appeared largely uninterested. While we would still recommend appropriate introductions and supervision with any new animal, his initial response was encouraging. He already has a solid training foundation and has shown us that he wants to connect with his people. What he needs is someone willing to continue giving him the structure, confidence, and consistency that help him succeed. At 6 years old, Scooby is past the chaotic puppy stage but still has plenty of life, personality, and companionship to offer. With the right person willing to understand him and continue building on everything he already knows, we believe Scooby has the potential to be an incredibly rewarding companion.
