Meet STEVIE NICKS! Video here: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1SfwiJgcSj/ You're driving home from work when suddenly you see a 72 lb. pitty wandering alone on the exit ramp off I-91, confused and with a swollen belly. Would you take the risk, pull over and try to get her into your car? What we think we would do in a situation like this and what we actually do can be two very different things. I will forever commend the selfless person who followed his gut and simply decided to help her. All of the proper authorities were alerted, and all of the appropriate steps were taken in case this sweet girl had an owner. Because of her swollen belly, the plan was for her to go on a 7 day stray hold with her finder rather than enter a stressful shelter environment'|especially if she happened to be pregnant or sick. And thank goodness that's the route that was taken, because it was soon revealed that she was suffering from pyometra, a life-threatening uterine infection that required emergency surgery. And once again, her finder stepped up. He didn't just find her, he decided he was going to see this through. He brought her to the emergency vet at Central and paid for the $9,000 surgery that saved her life. He did the right thing and now it's time for all of us to step in and help this sweet girl he has lovingly named 'Stevie Nicks.' Stevie is approximately 3 years old and weighs 72 pounds. She is now spayed, vaccinated and ready to be treated like a princess. STEVIE NICKS is: - Humble - Hilarious - MUSHY - 100% Housetrained - Affectionate - Quiet (not a barker, a quiet chirper) - Low-to-Moderate House Hippo She demands nothing more than hugs, kisses and a snuggly place to sleep and snore.
