About Damien

If your perfect day includes a spirited game of tug, a good walk, some ridiculous Bull Terrier zoomies, and then sharing your couch with a 55-pound lapdog, Damien may be your guy. Damien is approximately 4 to 5 years old and mostly white, with little black spots hiding beneath his coat. He is an affectionate, people-loving boy whose favorite place is wherever his person happens to be-although the couch is a very close second. Hand Damien his tug toy and his whole face lights up. He loves to fetch, wrestle, play, and make all the wonderfully strange noises Bull Terriers are known for. When playtime is over, he is more than happy to stretch out beside you and settle in for a nap. Damien came into foster care without many boundaries, but he has proven how intelligent and eager to learn he really is. Through play-based training, he has learned to respond to his name, sit before his toy is thrown, work for treats, and redirect his excitement into better choices. He once reacted intensely to the neighboring dogs through the fence, but with time and consistent handling, he has become much calmer around them. He is crate trained and usually walks inside after potty or playtime and heads straight to his room and crate-especially when he knows a treat is waiting. He is generally quiet indoors, although he sometimes offers a soft bark or howl when he hears an interesting noise. Motorcycles are not among his favorite things. Damien plays hard and loves enthusiastically. He can become physical and mouthy when excited, so he needs a confident, experienced adopter who appreciates the full Bull Terrier personality and will continue providing structure, exercise, and positive training. Damien will thrive as the one and only four-legged center of attention in his home. He has an intense prey drive, chases smaller animals, and becomes overly aroused around other dogs, so his forever home must be free of other pets. In return, his person will receive every bit of his affection, entertainment, and wonderfully silly companionship. His ideal adopter is moderately active, enjoys interactive play and walks, and has enough time to make Damien part of everyday life rather than leaving him crated for long hours. He doesn't need perfection-just someone consistent, committed, and ready to keep helping him become his very best self. Damien is currently fostered in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
