Meet Prim! %90%BE Prim is a young herding-breed mix who has come a long way after a rough start. Because she was not properly socialized, she is very cautious with new people and situations and needs an adopter who understands that earning her trust will take time, patience, and consistency. Prim is not aggressive, but she can be reactive when she is afraid. Experience with fearful or reactive dogs is preferred, and her adopter will need to be committed to helping her build confidence through positive training and plenty of patience. Her adoption will be a gradual process. Potential adopters should be prepared for multiple meet-and-greets, and Prim may need visits to her future home before making the transition. She may not immediately interact with you, and that's okay. She needs time to decide you're trustworthy. Prim does best with other confident, social dogs and loves having canine companions around. She has also been around cats and does well with them, although herding them occasionally is apparently part of her job description. She has plenty of energy and would thrive with an active family that can provide lots of exercise, training, enrichment, and ideally a job to do. She also has separation anxiety and does best when she has people or other dogs around. Prim is still working on her manners and can be jumpy and mouthy when excited, so a home without young children would be best. Prim needs an adopter who is looking for a long-term commitment; not a quick fix. Her progress will take time, but with the right person, she has every opportunity to become a confident, happy dog. If you think Prim might be the right fit for your family, please be prepared to let her set the pace. %9D%A4%8F
