About Rhea

Rhea is a beautiful 3-year-old Rottweiler looking for the RIGHT home. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, housebroken, and crate trained, although she is not currently crated and has her own room in our home. Rhea absolutely loves her people and loves toys-especially stuffies, although you should expect those stuffies to EXPLODE. ���� She is a fun, loving girl who would do best with someone who understands Rottweilers and is willing to respect her boundaries. PLEASE READ BEFORE INQUIRING: Rhea CANNOT live with cats or other small animals. She has a strong prey drive, chases cats, and has killed rabbits that entered our backyard. I will not place her in a home with cats. Rhea also CANNOT be placed with another female dog. She previously got along with our female dog but later developed serious female-to-female aggression, and they now must be kept completely separated. This is NOT something I am willing to let someone experiment with or try to 'fix.' She currently gets along with our male Pomeranian. A home where she is the only dog would be preferred, although an experienced rescue may be able to properly evaluate her with an appropriate male dog. Rhea is currently in her third home. Her first owner passed away, and she was then placed with someone who was reportedly experienced with Rottweilers before coming to us. I suspect some of her behavioral issues may not have been disclosed to us, although I cannot know that for certain. WHY WE ARE REHOMING: This is due to our housing situation, NOT because we simply don't want her. We are being forced to move because our rental home has serious problems underneath it and with the flooring that require extensive repairs. We have been unable to find housing that will accommodate all of our animals. I have tried privately rehoming Rhea, but I will not place her in an unsuitable home. I've also had people insist they can 'fix' her aggression toward female dogs. I am not willing to risk Rhea's safety or another dog's life to find out. We need placement ASAP, but the RIGHT home is more important than the fastest home. Rhea has already been through multiple homes, and I do not want her bounced around again. She deserves someone who understands what she needs and will give her a safe, stable, permanent home. Ideal home: �'ۢ Rottweiler or large-breed experience strongly preferred �'ۢ No female dogs �'ۢ Absolutely no cats or small animals �'ۢ Only dog preferred �'ۢ Secure home/yard and an owner who understands management of a strong dog �'ۢ Someone looking for a loyal Rottie to become part of their family Serious, responsible inquiries or reputable rescue organizations only, please. We do not want to have to have her PTS cause we can't find her placement. Please someone has to have a connection for some help
