About Teddy

�%9D%A4��%8F Meet Teddy �%9D%A4��%8F Teddy is a loving, loyal, incredibly smart dog who is looking for a new home where he can feel safe, calm, and comfortable. He is exceptionally well trained, loves following commands, and is happiest with the people he trusts. He's a cuddler, a comedian, and the kind of dog who becomes your best friend. Teddy has struggled with anxiety and reactivity, particularly around other dogs and the busy environment of city life. After being attacked by another dog a few years ago, walks became increasingly stressful for him, and he can become very overstimulated when he encounters other dogs. He has also developed protective behaviors around his home and his people. Because of this, Teddy needs an experienced, patient owner who can provide a quiet, low-stress environment, ideally with limited exposure to other dogs and lots of structure and consistency. He has never intentionally bitten either of his owners, but when extremely overstimulated on walks, he has redirected that stress and accidentally bitten his owner's leg. Because of this, we believe a calm environment with someone experienced in handling reactive dogs is especially important. This is an incredibly difficult decision for us. Teddy is not a bad dog-he is a wonderful dog who needs a different environment than we are able to provide.
