About Hugo

Three year old German shepherd. Rescued from Huntsville Animal Services. One of 20 dogs and four cats seized from a neglect case. Severely malnourished when seized. He was vetted, vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. I have since taken him to the vet and we are working on getting his weight back up. He was 57 pounds and is gaining everyday. He had sores and missing hair on his ears but that has resolved and his hair is growing back. He has had no socialization but with other dogs that I know of so he doesn't know commands or listen very well but we have taught him to sit and walks very well on a leash now. He doesn't like the crate so slowly introducing that to him and he is potty trained which I find amazing. He is still in puppy mode so he is play biting and chewing on things. He has shown no aggression and is pretty chill, doesn't bark at people or cars, just sits stoically watching everything. He does have some anxiety when we leave for work in the mornings but hoping that resolves with time. I work all day and do not have a fenced in back yard so he will need someone who can train him and give him a place to run and play, I am not sure if he is a runner or not as I've not ever taken him off his leash.
