About Caly

Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier / Poodle
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

I'd like to introduce you to Caly, a 5 year old, 45 pound, Wheaten/Poodle mix, A sweet, gentle girl who has one very important philosophy about life: If you're standing there, I should probably be touching you. Caly does not believe in personal space. She believes in personal togetherness. Trying to take her pictures was no easy task because every time we backed up to get a good shot, her response was essentially, 'Excuse me%BD'%BD| why are you way over there?' and she would come right back in for a closer look. She wants to be right beside you, leaning against you, pawing at you, or preferably climbing into your lap. If you stop petting her, Caly has the perfect solution: she gently puts a paw on you to remind you that the petting department is currently experiencing an unacceptable interruption. And belly rubs? YES, PLEASE. Caly is an enthusiastic supporter of belly rubs and quality cuddle time. But underneath all of her hilarious clinginess is an incredibly sweet, gentle dog with a wonderful temperament. She is affectionate, loving, and simply happiest when she is near her people. She's the kind of dog who makes you feel very loved because, quite frankly, she has absolutely no intention of letting you out of her sight. Now about those pictures%BD'%BD|You'll notice that we've included a before and after photo of Caly following her grooming. Carly's coat had become quite matted, so she needed to be shaved down to give her a fresh, comfortable start. And yes%BD'%BD| we know. She looks a little different! But don't worry-those gorgeous curls are NOT gone forever. They're simply taking a little vacation. With time, her beautiful curly coat will grow back, and she'll be back to her fluffy self. In the meantime, she's sporting her adorable 'fresh start' look and loving every minute of being comfortable and cared for. So if your idea of the perfect dog is one who will follow you around, stare lovingly into your eyes, paw you for attention, enthusiastically accept belly rubs, and make sure there is absolutely no possibility of you feeling lonely%BD'%BD|Caly would like to have a word with you. She's sweet. She's gentle. She's affectionate. She's your shadow. Personal space: 0%, Love: 100%. Who's ready!?! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.
