About Betty

Meet Betty Betty is a gorgeous little Catahoula/Jack Russell/hound dog. She's about two years old, weighing about 30 lbs. She has beautiful blue eyes, with a pretty coat of white with brown patches. Betty's ears are in another stratosphere of adorableness. Love them! We don't know Betty's history. She's a little shy, but once she feels safe, she is a love. She loves being with people and would be good with kids. She is easy to pick up, and she likes being cuddled like a baby. She is sweet and gentle, and starting to gain her confidence. Betty loves running and playing in the yards and a containment fence will be a must. She is apt to flee when feeling scared or when cars go by. She walks well on a leash, but she can frighten easily and will try and pull away from what scares hers. This should change once she feels safe and protected by her people. She likes other dogs and is very friendly towards them. We'll test her with cats for potential adopters. Betty is not yet house-trained, but we think it will be easy for her to pick it up. She is very smart and eager to please. This girl is a gem. All she needs is some TLC and people who love her and will keep her safe. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves an excellent reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if local. We may also ask for a facetime meeting or videos if out of state. Applicants must have an impeccable vet history and all pets in the home must be spayed/neutered (if not we'll need an explanation) and current on vaccines. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes.
