IF, AFTER READING EVERYTHING, YOU THINK YOU MAY BE THE RIGHT FIT FOR DOTTIE, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CALL ME. �%9D%A4��%8F MEET DOTTIE - A SWEET GIRL WHO DESERVES A FOREVER HOME �%9D%A4��%8F Dottie is a beautiful, approximately 5-year-old female, about 60 lbs, and most likely a Coonhound mix, although her exact breed is unknown. As I always say, rescue is my favorite breed! Dottie was adopted from a county kill shelter on 2/24/2023. A rescue was going to step up for her, but unfortunately the rescue fell apart. Dottie had been placed on the shelter's euthanasia list simply because she wasn't adopted quickly enough. Her current owner stepped up and saved her life. Sadly, Dottie's owner now has a terminal illness and is not doing well. She loves Dottie dearly and wants to make sure her girl is safely and lovingly placed BEFORE she passes, so she can have peace of mind knowing Dottie will be okay. DOTTIE IS VERY SWEET, PLAYFUL AND AFFECTIONATE. She gives kisses to show you how much she appreciates you. She LOVES WATER, so a pool would be a wonderful bonus! She is also extremely attached to her BALL, as you can see in her photos. Dottie is good with children. She is dog selective and does best with male dogs around her size. She is NOT good with cats. She is not a barker, so she could potentially be a condo candidate IF the property permits a 60-lb dog. However, she would need plenty of daily exercise, so a house with a securely fenced yard is preferred. PRIVACY FENCES ONLY-NO CHAINLINK OR SEE-THROUGH FENCING. I have been doing dog rescue/rehoming for 35+ years and my biggest addiction is empathy. It is very difficult for me to turn my back when a dog needs help. Although I have been trying to curtail rescuing since being diagnosed with cancer 5 years ago, I couldn't say no when I was asked to help Dottie. I know I am good at carefully matching dogs with the appropriate homes, and my commitment to Dottie is to find her the right final forever home. I want Dottie placed with an individual, couple or family who will love her and remain committed to her physically, mentally, emotionally and financially for the rest of her life. My goal is simple: to give her the safe, loving home she deserves 'til death do you part. DOTTIE WILL BE YOUR BEST FRIEND. WILL YOU BE HERS? �%9D%A4��%8F Dottie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm tested and negative, on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and microchipped. Her microchip will remain in my name indefinitely for her safety; I am happy to explain why. Her adopter MUST keep her on appropriate heartworm and flea/tick prevention and maintain yearly veterinary examinations and vaccines.
